Watain are starting to lift the veil on the successor to Lawless Darkness. The black metallers announced today that their new album is complete and will have the title The Wild Hunt and you can mark your calendars because it will be released on August 19th in Europe and August 20th in North America via His Master's Noise in collaboration with Century Media Records.

The album was mixed again at the Necromorbus Studio in Alvik, Sweden by Tore Stjerna. You can expect more details soon.

The official statement from the band: "After 120 nights of iron will and ardent magic, the fifth full length album of Watain is now complete. With broken bones and burning hearts we have ploughed our way through deepest winter into a new wilderness, to which we will open the gates at summers end. The Wild Hunt will be released on August 19th in Europe and August 20th in USA. Beware the rising star of dawn..."

It'd be sweet if this was about Andrzej Sapkowski's "The Witcher", but I doubt it.

Great news But please tell me this isn't the actual artwork for the album

I'am afraid it's , Lawaless Darkness Cover was amazing comparing to the new album
I Wish the album will be better than the cover

The artwork is sort of Undertaker's urn with four swords clipping in. Look forward to this album.

Psyched for this (: dont know why they chose to use a picture of them being grim in a sauna as the cover tho.....

I think it's just an announcement poster. I wouldn't be surprised if the cover was something different.

So psyched. Anything else than a masterpiece is a dissapointment.

The Wild Hunt, refers to an old Scandinavian folktale/fairytale. A story I loved as a kid. this is really cool, for me, as I love Watain.

Yeah, I learned this after I posted that, I'll have to look into that more. Sounds really cool.

Usually after an extreme metal bands 4:th album, something tends to go wrong.... But I will have an open mind to this album. I certainly hope it will be nothing short of a masterpiece!

What is the over/under on how many tracks have "black" or "death" in the title? 3.5?
