Mastodon - "Blood Mountain" Details Revealed

Blood Mountain is the upcoming third full length studio album by metal band Mastodon. The recording of the album finished in April 2006 and it is scheduled for release in August 2006.

Nice cover art, but somehow reminds me of Sabbat's History of a Time to Come. It must be the amtlers doing that to me.

I'm really excited for this album especially because of that collaberation with the Mars Volta that's going to be a sick song.

I got it a bit "early" ... and I'll go ahead and say... Album of the Year 2006, there will be nothing that can compete with this.

Also, tracklist is wrong - correct one is:

The Wolf Is Loose
Crystal Skull
Sleeping Giant
Capillarian Crest
Circle Cysquatch
Bladecatcher
Colony Of Birchmen
Hunters Of The Sky
Hand Of Stone
This Mortal Soil
Siberian Divide
Pendelous Skin

This album is certainly one of THE contenders for album of the year like Meuterei said.
It is on par with and at times better than Remission. Leviathan was also good but not as good as Remission and this one IMO. This album is more focussed and really drives the point home.

Blood Mountain is such a kick ass album. It's definently going to be one of the top metal albums of 2006 there's no doubt about it in my mind. I think it's possiably their best album so far.

@Meuterei that hidden bonus isn't a real song I don't think.
