Yngwie Malmsteen - Announce New Album, Unveil Details
Swedish guitar master Yngwie Malmsteen will release his new studio album, titled Parabellum, on July 23 via Music Theories Recordings/Mascot Label Group. The lyric video for the first official single, "Wolves At The Door", is available for streaming.

God this is so weird. I like his music, even though he's the AC/DC of shredding, he's still an amazing player. But the lyrics are like made with some random lyric generator, he slips up rhythm at times (lazily programmed drums maybe, or just failing to record the vibe?), he lacks the voice (layering won't help it), and the production is kind of half-assed too, his guitars lack punch and not being forward enough, especially compared to the drums which supposed to not be the solo instrument here...

I don't think I've much enjoyed an Yngwie album since Attack! Like others have said, it sounds like a demo. The production is almost as rotten as his vocals. The best Yngwie tracks that have vocals all come with amazing vocalists. He's delusional if he thinks he's on their level. I'd say it would be ok if he just made everything instrumental, since those are his best tracks anyway, but even the instrumental stuff now is chaotic and gives me a sore head.
