Insomnium - To Release Ninth Studio Album Next Year

In a recent interview with The Metal Crypt, Insomnium vocalist and bassist Niilo Sevänen revealed that there will be a new album next year, follow-up to 2019's Heart Like A Grave. The band previously announced that they will release a new EP next month, titled Argent Moon.

In the interview, Sevänen was asked if Insomnium were already working on new material for their ninth studio album. His response was: "Yes, of course! We recorded the EP at the end of last year and after those recording sessions were over, we have been writing new stuff for our next album. So far, I am very pleased with this new stuff, much of which is ready. At this point I cannot tell when we might enter the studio to record the songs, but I am confident we will get our next album released sometime next year."

It's always a good day when a new Insomnium album is announced! One of the few bands that reliably fails to disappoint.

I'm excited about the news! Pretty much all of their albums are fantastic and I cannot wait to see what they come up with next year.

Hoping for a strong shift after Heart Like Grave. I was heavily let down dy this last one, totally lacked energy for me, too mellowish.

Agree, have not listened that much to this one. Was not impressed by the EP either, but my hopes for a great album is there

Noice, the EP is not really getting to me but at the same time I hope there won't be a return to WG kind of style on this next record.

I'm on the same page as you, guys. Also, Jani's singing is absolutely terrible, I really hope they either mute him or make sure Ville does the secondary vocals.

Could it be the influence of Jani that made those past album and EP pretty boring ? I had high concerns when I saw a power metal guy joining the lineup ..

Not a big fan of his singing either. Actally I am hoping that the EP will be separated from the album.

That could be, I do much prefer Villes singing, hoping he will do the majority of them!
