German power metal outfit The Unity shared in may that their previous bassist Jogi Sweers would be unable to perform with the band anymore and Tobias ''Eggi'' Exxel would step in as a live bassist. Now, the band announced that he's been promoted for full membership of the band.

The band comments: "It was foreseeable in the last few weeks and today we can announce the wonderful news that Tobias "Eggi" Exxel is our bassist from now on! After some fantastic shows, where Eggi helped us out at short notice, this is the result of a natural development. Tobias explains: "I'm really happy to be part of one of the musically strongest and in a live context most thrilling European metal bands." Everything just gelled from the first second! can be sure that we’ve got lots of surprises up our sleeve."

Eggi adds on his Facebook page: ''Great news today!!! I joined The Unity !!! Surely you'll have many questions concerning Edguy At the moment I can only say, I'm so happy to be a part of The Unity !
