The only problem is that i'm defenetly not coming to Kansas I prefer living in my own third world country (Bulgaria) hahah... I actually belive that to be albe to come to the situation where doing comedy metal is really worth would be when I manage to get one of my bands succeed a bit in the music business so I have the conections to make the comedy thing work... Otherwise comic stuff rulz, espcially when people take it seriously and strat bashing it down like in a recent review of some gay grind core band

I think that some bands achive funniness quite well, through being funny, or having lyrics that are so out of the ordinary that they are funny. Sometimes though being funny isn't that great. Sometimes bands try harder to be funny than trying to make good music. I think bands should be more serious with actual music making, and then let the comedy part come second.

Different kind of funny, but Skyclad invokes chuckles. It's much more subtle. And pun-heavy.

Tried Carnival in Coal ?? Their music is quite original but mixing metal with disco isn't really my thing... Anyway they play and write hilarious stuff, at least on their latest album Collection Prestige (the only one I've actually heard). For example the song The Lady and the Dormant Sponge I'd better post the lyrics, better than any description : (A Swedish Winter Tale Episode II) In the middle of nowhere In the eye of the storm I can hear raging thunder And many other clichés I remember the bird's words Foreseeing nature's victory In the grandeur of its multitude Only but toys are we (this is meaningless) Wicked Wind! In the eye of the storm I hear the call of magic Riddles yelling to be solved The seven paths to Rahahaaz I must walk and forget my fear For the ones who make this journey will acquire wisdom (and probably an extra beer ) Beyond the secrets one can find hides a decision divine But will you find the One who pulls the strings? It isn't the Lord of The Rings, though it would make a brilliant rhyme The man who finds the answer (will) be our king Took a nap before going Visions invaded my dreams Weird creatures flashing in my mind They appear, then they disappear What does that mean? A sheep with a ball gown Surrounded by pygmies (Note: Why pygmies?) A lady and a dormant sponge (which will surely make sense in a near future) In the middle of nowhere In the eye of the storm May God spare me the way Leading straight to the Grim Reaper Seven deadly sins, seven ways to win Seven holy paths and believe it or not I stepped in shit Off to a good start... Haaaaa! (Justifying what you've heard, Anger's knocking at my mind's door) I can't wait 'til bedtime Can't wait until bedtime! The road will be hard, the road will be long If you don't mind I'd rather postpone my quest For everything that's been happening so far It really doesn't make me feel at my best In the middle of nowhere In the eye of the storm The path to Rahahaaz I will walk and forget my fear But a week before or a week after, that is no great deal Beyond the secrets one can find hides a decision divine But will you find the One who pulls the strings? It isn't the Lord of The Rings, though it would make a brilliant rhyme The man who finds the answer (will) be our king But there's no hurry... To be continued...

Xiquets de Banyoles are this band that exist on Google video that make their own low budget videos to other band's songs, such as Nightwish, Edguy, Judas Priest, Children Of Bodom, Manowar, Venom, In Flames, Crematory, Lacuna Coil, Blind Guardian, Accept and a host load of others. They're hilarious! http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=banyoles

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but another funny band I recommend is Crotchduster. They play avant garde metal, combined with power metal, death metal, and comedy, all rolled up into one. Therefore, I have dubbed them "Avant Garde Power/Death/Comedy Metal". Here is their Myspace page if you want to give it a listen. Just for the fun of it, here is the lyrics to their best song (in my opinion), 'Mammal Sauce'. Listen up motherfucker I got something I need to say If you don't use mammal sauce You might as well be gay I feel it running through my brain I feel it running through my eyes You hear the name that's calling you It makes you hypnotized Williams Sliptoflappy rappy And a carpal tunnel pudding flanker Nabble and a stampy and a Pigeon smelling generator See a chitlin wafer and a Chocolate buttered horses ass Frabble obble abble and a Stupid monkey chicken gas Chinese diarrhea prison carpet Chunky harplegig Nopaliaseah perforated Purple parkle pig My mammal sauce is the best mammal sauce Spread mammal sauce on my wang We make mammal sauce in bill williams loft And we eat a bucket of tang

One comedy metal band that I really like is Zimmer's Hole featuring memembers of Strapping Young Lad and their albums are produced by Devin Towsned they have some pretty funny lyrics. The genre they play is a thrashy comedy metal. In order to be a member of "the hole" you need to follow these comandments: By The Light of the Sheep's Eye, We; Zimmer's Hole, Do Espouse These, Our Laws... 1. Should They Plunder, Thou Shalt Suffer an Eternity of Humiliation in Song for Thy Ignorance and Stupidity. 2. Thou Shalt Embrace the Flame. For It is The Creator, and The Destroyer, and The Cooker of Weeners. 3. Thou Shalt Wear Dark Clothing. Especially, Big Tall, Leather Boots. 4. Thou Shalt Break the Crust that Imprisons the Rectally Retentive. 5. Beware the Changeling Glo-God for It is the True Weakness of Will. 6. Thou Shalt Ignite That Which Burns. 7. Thou Shalt Suck It. Suck It Up. Suck It The Fuck Up. You Fuck. 8. Thou Shalt Not Take the Name of Bob Barker. The True Shirtless Aerosol Cheesus Crust, in vain. 9. Thou Shalt Stand and Accept It. 10. Thou Shalt Swill Ale From A Bullet Proof Cup. 11. Thou Shalt Revel in the Flesh and Consume the Feast That is Life, Before the Great Flash - Dot of Armageddon.

Are you in or near Los Angeles? This Saturday, come see special guest monologist PHIL VARONE (Skid Row, Saigon Kick) perform with the Upright Citizens Brigade in ASSSSCAT. One night only! Saturday August 5, 2006 8pm $8 Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre- Los Angeles 5919 Franklin Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90028 http://www.ucbtheatre.com/la/ Cast: Matt Besser (UCB), Ian Roberts (UCB), Matt Walsh (UCB), Sean Conroy (Crossballs), Andrew Daly (MADtv) and Andrew Secunda (Late Night with Conan O'Brien), plus special guest improvisers ASSSSCAT, the Upright Citizens Brigade's improv juggernaut that has played to critical acclaim and sold out audiences in New York City for the past nine years, has landed in Los Angeles. So what exactly is ASSSSCAT? Well, it starts with a group of improv comedians currently working in film and television taking the stage accompanied by PHIL VARONE. We take a suggestion from the audience, then the show begins. Phil will share off-the-cuff thoughts, feelings, and personal remembrances inspired by the suggestion. The improvisers in turn use this impromptu monologue as fodder for a series of high octane, balls-to-the-wall improvised sketches that have made this show one of the longest running improv shows in the history of the world.
