i love the way he sings it.

Odd, that's my least favorite part of the song. Not the lyrics. The lyrics are fantastic. But I just can't stand the way John sings at that point. I prefer the melodic way he sings throughout the rest of that song trilogy.

The best lyrics in my opinion though, are from Pain of Salvation's album "BE", the song is "Dea Pecuniae", mainly because of the way the lyrics flow with the music, which is kind of important.

My favourite lyrics from my favourite bands would definitely be Agalloch and Gojira.
Anything and everything they write is just incredible and inspirational..I'm a vocalist myself, and seeing and hearing what they say and write is just beautiful. I truly take it to heart; especially Agalloch. I don't think I should really bother posting the lyrics, because it'll just end up being every single song they've ever written, haha.

Well after reading all your posts I am now super confused as to which lyrics are my fave...
I don't think I could name an 'all time favourite' but at the moment Hours of Wealth from Opeth really moves me.
Songs that I can relate to or that got me through significant moments in my life are the ones which usually stick with me and that I go back and listen to over and over again.
After a nasty break up I couldn't listen to any Tool songs for almost a year. But thankfully I got over that and think that The Patient from Lateralus is awesome.
Wings for Marie (Part 1) and 10,000 Days (Wings Part 2) from Tool's 10,000 Days album are also, in my opinion, amazing.
