Definitely a must have for fans of old school doom. Takes a few listen to appreciate de flute and vocals but it really is a gem of an album.

I just listened to this about two weeks ago, and I love it. Female stoner vocals are sooooooo cool

Cool band, I love this kind of retro approach, and flutes are always sexy, of course. One more band that deserves to be checked out is Jex Thoth, also with female vocals and retro-feeling.

I was also going to mention Jex Thoth, which is superior to Blood Ceremony in my honest opinion.
Do check them out.

Mmmm then Blood Ceremmony certainly isn't for me for I already find Jex Thoth mindnumbingly boring after three songs. But then again I REALLY DO have problems with female doom vocalists. They generally ruin due to lack of power otherwise fine music for me, cases in point being Jex Thoth, Mourn, Serpentcult, The River. The only doom bands I like which have female vocals are SubRosa and Reino Armitano.

Yeah I bought this a month ago or so. Definitely one of the highlights of 2008 for me, which is noteworthy since I don't usually like this sort of old-school sounding stuff. It took a while to get used to the vocals but the rest of it hit me immediately.
