Ok, so the deal is that everywhere, the book, and specially the movie, gets bashed around all the time for being an insult to the 'vampire genre', or for whatever reason. I personally don't know much about it, in fact, I haven't read the book, or books, and haven't seen the movie either, so I wouldn't have any intelligent or backed up reason for bashing it, except for what I've heard from a lot of people. I know some of you might've read the book, or watched the movie, so I'd guess you'll have some comments.

Now, instead of having bashing comments about Twilight on several threads, and people bashing it all around, I though I'd open this so it could be discussed properly. And by properly I also mean sticking to posting rules of MetalStorm. Please! I'll leave this pic just to start heating up things

I can tolerate all sorts of people, books, music etc.
but to exaggerate to a point where a trash romance novel is called 10 000 times better than, say, Tolkien's works, makes me downright fucking sick.
disembowel the motherfucking teenage cunt whores who like this shit.

Well said.
It's not so much that they're bad books, its that they are so amazingly overrated. Bad books are everywhere, but they shouldn't be popularised to this extent.

I don't think it was in any theaters, even by me (and we have a lot of fine arts stuff). But we have a video rental store that is all about the good material, no mater where it comes from so we got it there.

Yes, very much so.

I heard a priest gave a sermon on this book, and said how it was good because it wasn't all bloody and gory like normal vampire movies. A) That is the best part of vampire movies. B) They have a sex scene in one of the books anyway.

Yep, the rubbish non conflictual and depth lacking vampire story is definitely the one for me. (This is probably the reason I watched Underworld more than once).

Anyway, Twilight. The best vampire comedy ever written. Several things that bother me:

-Bella is probably stoned all the time, considering how she always gets dizzy or knocked out.
-In New Moon, Edward tries to commit suicide by standing in the sun, but TWILIGHT VAMPIRES DON'T DIE IN THE SUN. So, what, is he hoping some macho Italians will see him sparkling and beat him up for being gay?
-"Renesmee" sounds like a type of cheese.
-Apparently kissing cold marble lips is appealing.
-Meyer threw a huge hissy fit over the leak of Midnight Sun. She won't publish it until everyone's forgotten about it, but don't worry, me and some other Twilight non-fans are on that case...
-Speaking of that, why would she deny the fans keeping her in money their book, which gets her her pay? Has she any sense?
-James, Laurent and Victoria never come off as credible threats.
-After Edward becomes Bella's boyfriend, she just turns her back on her human life so she can become a vampire, not caring about her family or ordinary people at all. I want to know, is Bella meant to be... um... special?
-Vampire C-section.
-Everyone lives happily ever after with no sacrifice.

Still, Jasper took part in vampire turfs wars. Really, vampire turf wars! Meyer, have you considered that this is a much better idea for a book?

Shocking. I just think that the whole pop culture vampire thing is wrong. These things are predators etc etc etc. Not. Cuddly. Toys. Or. Boyfriends. Seriously. Elizabeth Knox, "Daylight." That seems to be a more realistic human vampire relationship.
