One question... why only MS featured albums? Weren't there any that aren't feartured here worth mentioning?

It was easier that way. Then I checked to see if I missed stuff, and then 2 more popped up (DKay.com and Lofofora). It would have been 2 more albums again if I did include non-metal albums (Vagrant Story OST, in the top 10, and The Dark Knight OST)

Lots of complex releases here Seeing Akercocke at 17 was really cool, I think it's at times drastically variable album, but it has their best work on it IMO. I know lots on MS like the latest Kreator disc, but I just can't see it being better than say... Unexpect's album, which you have just 2 down from it

I'm curious why you like your #1 so much, is there something personal related to the album as well? Its progression from the previous disc? I'm curious also because I checked your ratings (10s) and noticed it must have increased for "Gloria" since your initial review here on MS. And also because you have Enslaved's "Vertebrae" at a 10 as well, but it's much lower in your list

Lots of complex releases here

Complex as in technical and/or progressive? yes indeed, I really like this kind of stuff

That's because on the whole I prefer Kreator's album over Unexpect's. Just a matter of songs I don't like on the album in fact, who influenced the final order...

My voting need to be reworked
As for Gloria, when it came out, I listened to it about 7 times a day for nearly one month, I just couldn't listen to it enough. And this didn't happen since... Probably since I discovered Skyclad way back when I was in high school. Also yes, I quite relate to the album, as I consider it part of the perfect soundtrack for a fantasy (well modern-urban) world I created.
Last thing, when I wrote the review, I tried to rate it objectively...

Glad to see Coprofago there, it's odd since I'm not really into that kind of stuff.
I preffer Coprofago over Meshuggah XP

Ah well, it's the only album of theirs that I know, but I really like their use of synth guitars and jazz interludes...

Beyond Twilight's "The Devil's Hall Of Fame" is pretty cool.

And Section X too. But I still haven't listened to the 3rd album...

Aside from Gojira & Blind Guardian, I can't say I really agree with anything on this list...

No surprise when it comes to someone with tastes as lame as yours...
But OK, I'll agree, Inferno IS good.

"Gloria" defo deserves to be on the list, but number 1??? Gotta love "Textures" and "Lurking Fear" though. I quite like your taste usually, so I'm gonna check out some albums on your list (=

Don't really like iced earth though other than "Something Wicked"

Gloria, yeah n°1 it's pretty mandatory for me, as I explained in one of the posts above...

And so, you want to check something? Have you listened to Alchemist yet?

Actually, I have because you've been ranting on about them on enough posts for me to rmbr, though I was disappointed tbh. But with music, either it clicks or it doesn't. That's how I see it anyway. I did not like Lazarus Bird either btw. Too complex? I don't think so as I dig some other hard-to-digest stuff as well like To-Mera

To-Mera

Speaking of click-or-not, I still can't really get in their music. Same as Mastodon...

The only good Mastodon album is Remission, the rest is overindulgent masturbation.
