Dude did you heard about a documentary called "Heavy Metal in Baghdad" ?

Ahmad gave it to me months ago and still I have not watched it
will do soon

Yeah you should, you know they came to syria to jaramana and stuff like that

That's interesting
I will watch it right after launch ... will get back to you and discuss it

Oky but be careful it's a sad documentary.

Yesterday was something
a live rock\jazz concert that restored a bit of my hope and amazed me by the unbelievable talent that was exploding on the stage
first was a "Aameh" or "2am7" which is a college students band ... they played some folk songs with a new rock approach , it was good but they had some technical problems and then they played an acoustic version of "Bring me to life" wick was just bad. and since most people "here" can't tell the difference they seemed to be happy.
Up next was the highlight of the concert .... "Ehtemalat" or "Probabilities" a Jazz band whose lead singer does the vocals for the Syrian TV series "Spot light" the band played some classics and played it perfectly and then a guest lead singer came out and sang "Under my skin" by no one but Frank Sinatra and it was just WOW ..... this band is awesome, I am just wondering why haven't I heard of them before.
Next was a rock band called "Yosuf World" they played well and people were satisfied

A great night

I remember listening to Tristmoon sometime in the past 3 years, can't remeber how they sound like though, were they any good live

Well to be honest they sucks, because i don't like gothic melodic black metal, and i hate the sound of keyboards, it's just not my type i guess, and i was drunk and the sound of keyboards just pisses me off, but my fav were Blaakyum, and Blood Ink played some Machine Head and Lamb of God covers

Good Times

BTW since I'm obviously the newest member here, here's my CV (apart from the things you can find in my profile):

I have been living all my life in the UAE moved beck to syria in 2004 then moved to Bahrain last month, I started playing the Guitar when I was in 4th grade (I'm not a super player, but I'm good, I mean I've played lots of covers for Dream Theater [improvised the solos because their almost impossible]) I played with a band when I was in Al-Ain (UAE) but we disbanded when I moved back to Syria, I hate the Syrian Metal scene (well except Nu.Clear.Dawn) because all the members are all 'show-offs' and shit, not talking about talent here, but that really sux in them, I couldn't make my own band there because of that.

well that was booooring I know but you guys have to know who I am...

hoping to meet you all when I'm back in Syria (or when any of you is in Bahrain )

cheers

yeah and about not seeing me here, I was a very active metalstormer like two years ago, but I'm all bored now...there used to be a very fun place here called the Junkyard which had really funny topics, but now it's all band stuff and repetitive issues, but now that I have a really booooooring job I'm able to check in here every once in a while

If Syria is anything like Egypt then you'd know that summer in the middle east goes as long as 9 months a year, while winter is three.. and no autumn or spring
