I apologize if this has been asked before, but what are some good, non-Satanic black metal bands?
Please don't write comments about how stupid it is not to listen to certain bands just because they're Satanic.
Some bands I've already heard that I've liked are Negator, Antestor, Cradle Of Filth (they're not terribly Satanic), Graveworm, and Frost Like Ashes and Bal-Sagoth. I'm particularly interested in symphonic black metal but I like straight-up stuff like Darkthrone as well.
Thanks!

Summoning.

Middle Earth inspired Black Metal. First couple of albums are more straight up BM. The rest are epic and atmospheric BM.

Enjoy.

Cradle of Filth =/= black metal.

Symphonic black? Try Obtained Enslavement and early Darzamat.

N.B. Some bands can have some satanic or anti-christian lyrics here and there. I only avoided mentioning bands that seemed too obviously satanic but I didn't check every band's lyrics closely. I don't pay much attention at bands being satanic or not, since I don't give a fuck at religion in my life. I would say there is a certain level of satanism I enjoy (though I hate lyrics from ultra-satanic bands like Enthroned or Marduk - it's plain stupid).

Drudkh might float your boat as well - particularly their first couple albums.

Wolves In The Throne Room are another band that employ the aesthetic but have a different lyrical approach (not that the lyrics are discernible.) - Diadem of 12 Stars or Two Hunters would be good albums to check out.

Negura Bunget - OM in particular.

both of those employ longer songs, tremolo riffs, and attempt to somehow capture/incorporate nature into their works.

I would say most of "folk/pagan black" metal bands - like Windir, Moonsorrow, Avathar (they also have Tolkien-based lyrics), Temnozor...they cannot be "satanic" hence satanism belongs together with christianity and christianity doesn't fit with paganism too much

also DSBM and "atmo-black" imo - Sobres Forets, Lustre, Penses Nocturnes, Nocturnal Depression...

Yeah... what ARE they doing? That is a good question... says the band is "on hold" on MA.
Back on topic, Fatherland is a great album to check out by them if you haven't. Epic in the vein of Summoning...

also maybe Falkenbach? More folky/viking than black but still... ...Magni Blandinn Ok Megintiri... is a good one.

EDIT: On Metal Archives the Ancient Rites profile has lyrical themes: Paganism, Satanism, European History/Heritage
Although I can't recall noticing any satanic themes in the albums I listened to, maybe earlier and they grew out of it?

I knew they had a few satanic inspired lyrics in their early years, but not enough to call them satanic black. The early demos and their first LP had some satanic lyrics but that was before they where wellknown.

My friend's a big Burzum fan.
He's probably going to have me listen to their albums at some point.
After Watain.
Apprehensive about that.
Don't strike me as the most, mmm, un-Satanic group out there.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Bal-Sagoth.

I consider only their first album as Black/Death Metal. After that, it's much more Powermetal than anything else.

The first album is significantly different from everything they did after. Heavier, rawer, much harsher.
The second album retained a bit of this more extreme side, but not much. The other albums are exactly what you describe. The only non-Powermetal element is the harsh vocals and they're not even extreme or harsh if you compare them to standard Black Metal vocals.
