This is an absolutely fantastic game. As of so far, I have a level 46 Dwarf Paladin, and I am already starting to get into the good parts of the game (the higher level instances, powerful weapons, etc). Do you play it? If you want to meet up with me, you can find me on the Kul Tiras realm!

The Lore maybe? Diehard fans of the Warcraft strategy games probably feel some sort of nostalgia while playing WoW. I doubt PW has such immense lore. Its a recent game right? WoW has 3 strat games plus expansions full of lore to back it up.

I am a diehard fan, and the only thing I felt playing WoW was anger at Blizzard for not making Warcraft 4 and giving us a (let's face it) average game.

Maybe you are NOT into RPGS and love Strategy games more? Pardon the offense, but thats kind of retarded. How can you even compare a strategy game to a RPG? Those are two completely different kinds of games. If you wanted a new Warcraft strat game, why even bother buying and playing a MMORPG?

Saying it again, it was not meant as an offensive answer.

Oh and by the way, WoW is also highly addictive. I can tell, cause im one LOL (not the addictive kind of "skipping classes, ditching gf, tell parents to fuck off, destroy life, etc", but a relatively healthy kind of addiction).

Stop apologizing about that kind of stuff, you can call me an idiot all you want, I don't care provided that you give some valid arguments (which you did do here).
The scentence "Saying it again, it was not meant as an offensive answer." was completely unnececary.
Now, back to the topic. I'm not comparing them, where did you get that idea? I like RPGs waaaay more than strategies, but what I am saying is that WoW is a fairly average MMORPG, and Blizzard would be much better of with a Warcraft 4. Well, Blizzard wouldn't, considering the money they make, but for me and many others it would be a lot better.

After Diablo 3 comes out, im sure a lot of people will ditch WoW and buy Diablo 3 I might be one of those people But if they released a Warcraft 4, i still wouldnt play it even though i got so much into the"warcraft" world. I just dont like strat games anymore....i like to play with relatively few stress. And strat games are ALL about timing. Im afraid some headvein will pop off ;p

Maybe, but not too many people. At least 70% of the players are hardcore addicts.

I've taken a look at the discussion on why WoW? And, as I've tried several MMORPG's, only those without subscription fee, all I can say is that they never really keep up with WoW. There is a reason you pay each month, and that is to keep WoW up to date, with patches, new content, etc. etc. WoW is an ever changing world, just like the real world, other MMORPG's can't afford to this, and so they are the same all the time, never changing anything, and often are filled with major flaws and bugs, which isn't that good, now is it?

Now, WoW also happens to have this wonderful universe, the Warcraft universe. There's deffinatley something that have helped the game come a long way, it's connection with the Warcraft series, especially Warcraft III. The lore that's in WoW, the other Warcraft games and all around them, in books etc. are amazing. No other MMORPG have been able to create this kind of stuff yet, not that I'm aware of, and as I said in the start of this response, I've played several MMORPG's.

World of Warcraft is really the best choice if you really like some heavy story, and great socializing, and an ever changing world.

FOR THE HORDE!

(I play on the Moonglad RP server, my main is a Human Paladin, lvl 80, now I play mostly on a Blood Elf Paladin called Sàeth)

True. Very true. I was a total addict for the last..hm...3 years. Now, im trying to find a game who actually ends. You see, its no longer fun if you dont have anyone you know in a server, if you have no guild (because most now are either totally hardcore, or just plain friendly who raid once a month or year), if for some reason you fall behind (like you dont have tier 7 or 8 or whatever and most others have), if you have no time to farm for the tiers and tokens and whatever. You see it loses its fun part. If you WANT to experience this game to the fullest, you must be totally committed and basically have no life whatsoever.

I, fortunately, have found a life recently lol. Lost the will to play a couple of months ago not only because lack of time, but also because ive had enough of never being able to keep up. Its awesome that the game changes, but changing so much that only gives times for no-lifers to experience the game to the fullest (the more common people who work, study and have a life and dont play so much dont stand a chance at this) really annoys me and makes me want to quit. Which i did.

Ive always been a person who plays games because i want to see the end. WoW, obviously, has no end until they decide to pull the plug. I guess i was kinda living in a delusion

PS: When does the next expansion come out? this x-mas? next january/february?

Well, actually, I don't play that much, and those I play with don't play much either, we're just some guys and girls having a fun time playing a bit, you don't need to be a nolifer to keep up with the changes really, you just need to find the right people to play with And most likely, as it was for me, the RP servers are the best for this kind of playing you describe, little time to play, there are lots of people on the RP servers that just log on from time to time as they don't have much time. I suggest you give it a shot at least

About WoW: Cataclysm, there's no date at all yet, but deffinately not January/February, but sometime next year they've said.

If Blizzard sent more funding in Diablo 3 than the next WoW expansion (even though the developer team is different) maybe it would go faster. Yeah...'cause..we've been waiting almost 10 years for D3... and stuff......

Well, I've never liked the Diablo series, so I don't really care how long it takes for Diablo 3 to get out. But the Warcraft universe is something else (not just WoW, the whole series). It's a living universe. It's really speciall, and I realized this when playing some Warcraft III (haven't played through it yet). There is atmosphere and there are feelings. Ah, I just say, Incredible! This is why Blizzard exists!

MadGatsu: one of my old guildies/friends irl noted that all of WoW's releases were right around the time college was on break. He concluded that it was an attempt to have people ditch out on schooling and put their tuition money into monthly fees and gold farmers lol

I've been WoW-free for almost a year and a half now. I do miss it. I've been trying to find free MMORPG's to fill the void and it's not the same. If I hadn't cut out right before the release of WotLK I'd probably still be hooked. Raiding was a lot of fun, especially with some solid guilds. (We all rolled horde on Medivh. I didn't come around until the top guilds took off while Black Blood Battalion was still getting established. I don't know if that means anything to anyone but I guess as far as horde guilds across the realms, they're were notable.)

I have been waiting for D3 to come out, even SC2. They both look pretty interesting but it's still no WoW.

I'll do it for him, you're an idiot, reasons have already been listed above, and can be found in any other thread on this site. Although I also hope for a WC4 some day, it would in no way be better for Blizz. They're rather smart (or lucky) with their release times, as every so often they release a game that switches it up a little bit but, keeps their fans coming back for more. They seem to alternate releases between strat and rp: WC2, D1, SC, D2, WC3, WoW, SC2, DC3 etc. Blizzard may see a decrease in players on WoW but, they'll likely make up for it with sales of SC2 and D3 and when people want a break from that they'll likely log onto WoW: Cataclysm.

Now the actual topic at hand.
I just got back into playing this game a bit over a month ago and I'm actually starting to make some progress for once. If any one else plays on Eonar feel free to add me to your friends list with either: Bitterdawn or Nekronaut (currently working on Bitterdawn) and yeah, it's a lame PVE server.
