Hah, I did not expect that. Then again I always wondered why they weren't here but bands like bullet for my valentine were here. Specially since BMTH IS metal no matter the way you look at it. The dethklok problem was completely different though.

Never heard of Deathtongue, but spinal Tap can now be made visible indeed, as can Bad News.
And yes I agree Dethklok have no place on this site, but apparently we are in a minority.

I personally don't give a damn about it but let's say that BMTH has maybe 1000 times more reasons to be here than Dehklok. I'm more surprised about the fact that there's people walking liking dethlok. I also wonder when was this discussed. Who decided that they should be added and what were the pro and con reasons?

Surprising how there's not a lot of masturbating over this fact when ever since I've registered, and probably a lot longer than that, the lack of Dethklok was brought up in numerous threads. And if I had a nickel for every time I heard someone complaining over it in the shoutbox, I could have afforded a lot lot lot of CDs...

Because the original suggestion (over 50+ thumbs up) was deleted and re-added to the blacklist. Meaning only Thryce received the notification about the band being added to the site. So instead of a shitload of regular users being notified, they'll have to find out by either reading new posts or typing in the band name (if they hadn't quit trying two years ago).

If we added the first Dethklok suggestion I guarantee there'd be more positivity surrounding this. Instead, the only people who were directly made aware of the band's inclusion are the Staff members who voted for them.

I think it's good to see them added. The way I see it, it's more than just a TV show band, since (like Spinal Tap), they do tour and put out real albums. If the most kvlt bands can be featured, why not the most comedic as well? I think the responsibility of sites like this one is to not only have an online community to discuss metal but one that documents and preserves metal's history, large and small, well-known or underground. There are some on this site that are jaded and uptight and won't like Dethklok's addition, but I really don't care. If you don't like it, you don't have to pay attention to it.

On the contrary. They're immensely popular and a lot of people on this site have been praising them (mostly in the shoutbox, but still).

I wouldn't be surprised if their two full-lengths had 8.5-ish scores after 100 or so votes.

I admit to knowing virtually nothing about Dethklok, but admist all the arguing I'm now seeing about their inclusion, to me only one thing really matters: Is the music played by Dethklok metal? If the answer to that is yes, and the songs are original compositions, then they should be featured here. The fact the music is promoted as being played by a cartoon (and therefore fictional) band, is something that makes it a bit understandable why some would object to their inclusion though.

Ahem... Why was I not consulted for the voting process? But yeah, this band is about as watered down as death metal/melodeath can possibly get, and they've got some pretty darn catchy songs. Nothing really amazing, but pretty fun. I RIDE THE HATRED COPTER!

For every Metalstormer that complains about a band not being true metal, 10 more complain about people not being "open minded" enough to accept whatever mainstream band is being discussed.
