I'm probably going to sign up for an Egg one too that's for pick up the same location. Only $.50 more than supermarket eggs. I'd be crazy to not do that.
We grow our own vegetables and peaches but we know a friend with a cattle farm out here so we get from them but it’s not delivered, though that would be really nice
I love metal drumming. Many metal drummers possess skills that are very original & unique and cannot be found in any other kind of music genre. Borrowing styles from hardcore punk, free jazz, blues, Avant-garde etc, there is a lot of variety to be found in Metal drumming.
A lot of factors goes into making it good like originality, proficiency, dynamics , Techniques, Production Style (I mostly prefer slick production styles since thats what i started out with) etc. So What do you think are the best drummed extreme metal albums ever??
Eg. Death - Human
Kronos - Titans Awakening
The Red Chord - Fused Together In Revolving Doors
Hate Eternal - I,Monarch
Viraemia - Viraemia EP
Fleshgod Apocalypse - Mafia EP
Those bands aren't really doomy for me. More like stoner.
Lol, I always think stoner doom when people say doom
I personally have a hard time seeing how some "stoner doom metal" bands are considered doom at all. I can see it in Sleep, but hardly on Shrinebuilder, let alone OM (they aren't even metal nowdays! xD).
And now, we have to stay ontopic:
The drummer fromm Dragged Into Sunlight is fantastic!

Jokes aside.. Sad from S.V.E.S.T (especially that album Urfaust)

Well no one seems to have mentioned Mario Duplantier from Gojira.
I think the dude is great. He's got speed, technicality and awesome groove.
So is the guy from Revocation, not sure of the guys name.
Patrice from Martyr(Canada) is awesome as well.

I really enjoyed Darkside's varied approach in the new Mgla album "With Hearts Towards None". He does a lot of different things behind the kit from track to track.
I really like Hannes Grossman (Obscura, Blotted Science, ex-Necrophagist); his blastbeats are fast but also have a big emphasis on power and he does some awesome fills (Anticosmic Overload anyone?). I also enjoy the drumming on Through Silver in Blood; whoever plays for Neurosis knows how to use the toms.

Yes. Good performance. But I think their "Mdlosci" tracks have better drumming.

Written by Troy Killjoy on 19.06.2012 at 05:21 My personal favorite and my man crush in the metal scene. Apparently he's working on a symphonic metal album with his wife. :/
Plus he has that Ph.D in Physics, he's just pure awesome. I was wondering what he was up to these days. Symphonic metal... *:/ face* indeed.

You can add him on facebook and he'll accept your request! (he just did for me) *fangasm*
Death - Individual Thought Patterns -> Hoglan is nearly incomparable
Dimmu Borgir Spiritual Black Dimensions -> I like Tjodalv's drumming. A good balance between aggressive and technique. Besides having a very attractive style, in my opinion
Nicholas Howard Barker in general
I've no idea why most of you only mention drummers who have mostly speed to show for their skill. The real skill is shown (in my opinion) in how creative, not fast, a drummer is. All that said, a very fast drummer that is Hellhammer shines the brightest when he shows his creativity. Like in this song, starting at 1:40
And, of course, the best drummer in metal, Dave Lombardo in his most amazing performance
I just find his drumming more insane than ever on the new album. But yes, his drumming is pretty much insane on all albums since "The Sun Of Tiphareth".
Absolutely an amazing drummer. He is so fast and incredible, but also incredibly artistic. Absu's riffs are good and fun, but they don't have a lot to them. Proscriptor's drumming takes them above and beyond their potential. With any other drummer this band is predictable, fun, but not worth more than a couple spins. Proscriptor has more than a unique style, he works his drums into the music, molds it in and takes you on a journey. I'd say my favorite performance of his is still Tara.
I'm a big fan of Gene Hoglan's work in Fear Factory and Dark Fucking Angel. Definitely not as extreme as some of the drummers here (the fastest I've ever listened to is Flo Mounier) but at least he has a good feel.
Also, who the hell does the drums in Anaal Nathrakh? that shit is impressive.

A drum machine is my bet.
I'll probably earn the hate of quite a few people here, but what the hell.
I think Morbid Angel's Pete Sandoval is the most overrated extreme drummer around. He has speed, but that's basically all he has.

No reason to hate tbh. A good drum machine still counts as an impressive performance imo. Also, if my memory isn't too shabby... I believe they do have a human drummer for the concerts but I could be wrong.

I still think the best drummers of all are the Progressive Metal/Rock drummers, they aren't the fastest but their technicality, precision and creativity is unmatched and how one can keep perfect time whilst changing time signatures as much as they do just amazes me. Anyhow this is an "extreme metal drummer" thread so I'll shut up now.

The hate part was referring to Pete Sandoval not the drum machine And live they do have a human drummer btw.
As for Pete Sandoval anyone thinkng he is only about speed is clearly deaf. Pete drums extremely varied (and at times fast as well) with intricate fills and all. Compare him to Tim Yeung and you'll see Tim is most mostly about speed and not Pete

Yes, the hate part was about Pete Sandoval. And yes, I must be deaf, because Sandoval has never impressed me. But sure, if you compare him to such a bland drummer as Tim Yeung, he will come out on top.
