1. ANACRUSIS (1986 - 1990 - technical thrash ; 1991-1993 and now - prog thrash)
2. HOLY TERROR (1985 - 1989 ; thrash with punk influences and incredible vocals)
3. DEPRESSIVE AGE (1988 - 2001 [also known as D-Age (1997 - 2001)] ; technical/progressive thrash metal)

Well, I didn't see anywhere in the topic Dark Angel... You'll say they are famous enough, but they are overlooked compared to their class. Also, I'm not very much into thrash, but why this hate about Tankard? Overrated are bands like Kreator, Tankard are fine, kinda remind me of Sodom.

Well, as I said, I'm not very much in thrash... But the thread reminded me of Tankard, so I decided to hear once again B-day, whats wrong for example with this album? It's diverse, fast and catchy... And I do see some similarities with the style of Sodom... But it's just my opinion, maybe I'm wrong.

Year of Desolation is a bit of an overlooked band. They're pretty good and I'm thinking of buying their self titled album.

11.09.2012 - 22:02 Written by blackelkspeaks on 11.09.2012 at 07:19 So much overlooked that Relapse rereleased their album. MS were overlooked at the time but I find them currently quite hyped and overrated to be honest. They were good, yes, but not great.

Even though they never released much, I think Powermad's "Absolute Power" was for the most part a great album that was generally overlooked.

12.09.2012 - 19:13 Written by Marcel Hubregtse on 11.09.2012 at 22:02 Relapse have a deal with the Spectrum of Death vinyl + t-shirt. Absolutely worth it for those like me who weren't around when they were first out. I gotta agree though that Morbid Saint aren't overlooked nowadays. With them playing in big fests in the States (and probably in Europe sooner rather then later), hard to overlook them now.

19.09.2012 - 02:38 Written by Guib on 19.09.2012 at 02:32 Currently they are by all sorts of whippersnappers all over the world on forums talking about them as if they were the best and most original thrash band around when in fact they were second rate at best at the time and for a reason. Hell, and now Relapse rereleasing their album it will only get worse.

I think Metal Church gets overlooked alot. Their first two albums are excellent and they have a couple later albums that are pretty good as well. Im pretty sure the first show Metallica played with Jason they opened for Metal Church in '86 too.

Sacrifice (Can). One of my all-time favorite thrash bands but seem to be rather unknown, overlooked, or underrated. Torment In Fire and Forward To Termination are fantastic, just to name two of their best.

25.09.2012 - 13:09 Written by Misfit74 on 25.09.2012 at 09:09 After long time I guess someone has really pointed the correct band that this thread needs. Certainly, Sacrifice is all time underrated band that should have gotten limelight and praises that they use to deserve. I still have collection of "The Ones I condemn" "Forever To Termination" and "Torment in Fire" and they all are fucking masterpiece. Well, somehow I found "Soldiers of Misfortune" was way better than "Forward To Termination" which contains some really old school epic thrash crushing stuffs that really blow the head off when the first time any(thrash) fan listen. Fucking fresh and utter raw smashing riffs that really made the album to EPIC. Til date, "As the World One" is still my one of the favorite thrash anthem of all time. Great thrash army.

Well, they have been mentioned in this thread, but I can't stress it enough. But really imo the most criminally overlooked and underrated thrash band ever is Anacrusis.
