Maybe I'm little too late to write here, but however I do it.

Yeah the band is awesome. And it's kicking to Bodom's ass. What I have noticed not so many know this band even in here their homeland, but I'm sure that this band has good future and it will become more famous all over world.
I think Bodom's new albums aren't so good what Kalmah's are. Like compare The Black Waltz and Are You Dead Yet. The Black Waltz is way too better than Are You Dead Yet. Well there can be many opinions from this, but that's what I think.

Hope that these guys will do same good stuff in future and not lame stuff like Bodom did.

Best album is Swamplord and Hades rules!

Okay, Kalmah simply kicks ass. One of the best bands in my opinion and their new album, even though the vocal range change, is magnificient and, most of all, awesome.
I really don't like to compare bands, especially Kalmah to Children Of Bodom, but I can say that both are really great.

Though Kalmah's a tiny wee bit better....

Kalmah didnt impress me as much with "The Black Waltz" as they did on their earlier albums, especially Swamplord. Its still a great album dont get me wrong, I just find that i get bored with TBW quite quickly and after all these years I still go back to listening Swamplord and Swampsong much more regularly.

Awesome that they finally get recognised in their own identity and not in Bodom's shadow anymore

Good point. If someone thinks that Children of Bodom is better than Kalmah then argue it. What I think is same that Dream_of_Hate told: Kalmah blows Bodom away.

Agreed. When you compare the latest albums from both bands, The Black Waltz is a clear winner.

But to the post i read near the top of this topic IMO there is just noway that Children Of Bodom is better than Kalmah, (of course) i still love Bodoms music but Kalmah just excites & energizes me everytime i listen to them.

Also some of the posts i read say they are not that well known, Here in the USA i have never heard anyone talk about them nor have i seen an album until i read about them on amazon.com. This is true they are not well known, at least to the Metalheads in my city, im not sure about everwhere else in the USA. But i do really enjoy there awesome work on Swamplord & hope to pick more copys up soon

I think you dont dissapoint when you get album. It is some different from them best album Swamplord. But awesome release!

When you get Black Waltz just go to street with CD-player and BIG speakers. Then just Black Waltz in and wait ppls who comes to ask what is this awesome band

Damn $20 is cheap ass....I would have a party with the amount of albums i buy if they cost $20. Over here in South Africa theyre at least $30 for metal albums its insane - I have to import all my stuff :-/

I got 'They Will Return' and i really liked it! Took me a few listens too to actually take the songs in but im definatly impressed. It was the only time ive ever seen a Kalmah album here, and i only knew of the band from MS and they were getting a good response so i checked it out. I like the song 'Principle Hero' with the symphonic sounds towards the end of the track.

Seems 'Swamplord' is a few peoples favourite here, might give that a look into.

Well if they are overrated then most other bands in this genre are overrated as well cozz they sure as hell kick Children of Bodom's ass eventho people used to say they are Bodom copies. I dont think The Black Waltz was their best album IMO...everything god a bit boring quite quickly but i think Swamplord and Swampsong are fuckin stellar!

Well i just say it too an di think thay are overated, Ok maybe in thos eyears it was COOL but nowdays I can listen maybe one album nothing more and you shood know beter how me there in Finland are more bands from 80ties, I cant remebe rnow, but maybe you remeber, some good doom, black and heavy
Insomnium are better hwo Kalmah

Me too there not overrated neither are they underrated.........
they are a very good Melodic Band (THE BEST IMO) and they should be given some credit more than bands (that are going mainstream) like Children Of Bodom and other melodic bands..........
because they are really good and really deserve it.........

they are the first band that I've ever heard play Melodic Death+power+little bit Black (or maybe thats only what I've heard)

i can sometimes get metal cds for $10, but yes, most of the CD's cost between $30 and $35, especially bands li,ke Kalmah and CoB.
