btw correct me if i'm wrong, but do all their songs seem to start with a D chord or have something to do with D? like "i'm the only gay eskimo", "dio", "fuck her gently" all start with that chord, and "metal" is in drop D tuning.. wtf? is this on purpose?

Hahahaahahahahah love these guys, have been listening since seventh grade. They are pure comical genious as far as their first album goes. Their second one is ok, but not nearly as good as the origional. Wonder boy is a classic.

As far as the D chord thing or the corrolation of "D" anything in their playing, I never noticed before, so I have no Idea.

I love these guys, I've been a huge fan for a long time. I even have their "Cleveland Steamers" shirt. As for the D in their music, I have never noticed, and I wouldn't think that they would do that on purpose as the D in their name doesn't have anything to do with their love for the D chord. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd like to find out. Also, Corky and the Juice Pigs sing "I'm the Only Gay Eskimo", I also thought it was The D for the longest time.

I love this band! Definetly great music, hilarious, and actually rock'n'roll dude!
I also like Jack's movie '' The Pirck of Destiny '' which has some great songs in it!

These guys are funny as hell! First time I heard fuck her gently I think I died laughing. That aside however, and I may get my ass kicked for this, but Jack Black is a huge poser in my eyes (don't get me wrong I love him as an actor and a person), and neither him nor Kyle (I think that's his name) aren't very talented but thats probably because they are a parody band. These guys are still hilarious as hell though.

GREAT MOVIE, an epic.one of the best i ever seen...

Super-awesome band. I saw their DVD - something about "the complete master works" or something along those lines... It even includes 6 episodes from their HBO series and other short films directed by Liam Lynch.
Kielbasa is a really good song.

Funny, hilarious the first time you hear the songs. Then it somewhat starts to bore you, since there isn't much else besides the jokes.

I definitely don't agree with you. Of course they're not Petrucci nor LaBrie, but they're ok, and Jack is quite a good singer in my opinion. And, he's not a poser. He's joking, that's soo much different from being a poser. He doesn't pretend to be a metalhead, he plays the metalhead.

i'm the only gay eskimo isn't a tenacious D, it's buy corky and the juicepigs. same for "my biznitch is the shiznit" those songs are both leaked on limewire as the D, but they aren't. lol, it dosen't even sound like them

I'm not the biggest fan of (in my opinion) novelty bands like Tenacious D. They have some fun songs but overall they don't interest me. I know their guitarist Kyle Gass is a VERY talented musician though.

Tribute is an Epic song.

I still laugh at some of their stuff even after tons of listens, and actually enjoy some of their stuff (aka The metal and Tribute)

Helllllll yea i saw them live. they had the WORST opening act ever, this comic named Neil Hamburger. people started throwing pennies at him and he said that everytime someone yelled Tenacious D's name, he was gonna add 10 minutes to his set, but once the audience started threatening to kill him, Tenacious D came on with a huge theatrical setup and everything. it was siiiiick.

I saw them a few days ago on VH1 covering Squeezebox by The Who for Rock Honors...they did a really good job of the song...Jack Black is so crazy when he performs...they really got the audience going...
