Most of the MS I talked to don't lke doomsday machine although I like that album a lot. But it's always gona depend on your taste ultimately, so just give it a try.

be sure that doomsday machine is best album of AE. you don't known what kind of people vote to an album. maybe they are fans of other styles of metal

But, even they are fans of other metal genres, maybe they opinion cannot be discarded.

For example i, don't like nu metal, but know say when a nu metal albuns is good or bad.

And about AE albuns, i like of Anthems of Rebellion. Not is the much more heavy, but is the better worked.

@ms68: What do you mean by 'be sure that doomsday machine is best album of AE'? Does that mean that when someone listens to it, they better make sure that it is the best album in their opinion?

I personally think that Doomsday Machine is a great follow up to Anthems Of Rebellion...it shows how Arch Enemy have matured since Glassow has been in the band and has very memobable riffs throughout..

no that isn't but i can't understand why stupids think that all matters in metal is speed??? THEY should consider arch enemy as a melodeth band and only matter in this genre is MELODY.:dtongue:

I think the door swings both ways. While speed isn't the most important thing in metal, an absence of it can make it seem like the music has been watered down (relative to prior releases). For me, the main thing I've always liked about AE is their speed.

Yeah I'll agree there. I'm one of those people who voted Doomsday Machine a 6, it wasn't the mid-paced tempos that put me off, its just that the whole thing seemed really hollow for some reason. Though I think "Rise Of The Tyrant" was a fantastic album.

My thoughts exactly. It was indeed a hollow album. I listened to it recently (although only once), and I remember being just disgusted. I need to give it a listen some time soon to give it a proper rating, but really don't want to

Doomsday Machine is my least favorite Arch Enemy album, and really the only songs I love are "I am Legend / Out For Blood" and "Nemesis." It's an album I can listen to from start to finish, but have no desire to listen to it again after I do, which is exactly the kind of album that gets a 7 from me everytime. I just don't think a lot of the riffs were worked through enough to add anything that the band hadn't done before, or add the extra level of emotion that could have made the album interesting. I don't hate it, I just don't care about it!

That song was off of "Rise Of The Tyrant", but that being said, it is a fantastic song. The only ones that hooked me on Doomsday Machine were 'Nemisis', 'Machtkampf', and 'Hybrids Of Steel'

I thought Doomsday Machine was good. I certainly rate it above Anthems Of Rebellion, which I never really got into for whatever reason. That said I'm not entirely sold on Rise Of The Tyrant either (I get the feeling I've mentioned this earlier in the thread or elsewhere) but I haven't listened to it as much as I should've either.

I haven't seen their latest DVD just yet so I can't really compare. I thought Live Apocalypse was great however. My only gripe was they used "Fields Of Desolation" as an outro as opposed to playing the song in full.

Yes, I know! I mentioned that as well a while ago. They should have played the whole song, it's such a great song.

Oh fuck, I didn't expect that kind of reaction, its perfect....almost makes me want to change my signature. Is Angela Gossow some sort of deity in Syria? You'd think so by that type of reaction. The poor guy seemed to really take it to heart.

Yea, I also hope that they will do something more innovative as they had in the past...and like you said better, comparing to the ''Rise Of The Tyrants''.
