I like strong beer (unless its not hot summer day) 8 to 16 % is good

BE you just repeating stereotypes. There is plenty of much stronger beers here unfortunately. Traditionally yes English beers had lower alcohol content but those days you got plenty of cheap and strong beers available.

Andy - In UK your ale and beer are 3.8% and you can drink a lot, but in continental Europe are like 5 or more. You cant drink a lot
