Beer has taste, alcohol as well

Whereas if I just want to get drunk I won't pour any effort into making a cocktail, I'll just mix the alcohol with whatever I have that tastes ok

Cocktails and stuff can taste really good but I feel like the alcohol actually makes an otherwise perfectly good mix taste worse
