So you think an album is more essential because it's more accessible? I think the word essential refer more to what has been important/influential than just being good. And the Death album isn't death metal, and also you can't say that their last album have been more important than their early albums.

I meant these are essential to listen to for a person getting into death metal, not essential in the creation of the genre. And you're right, the Death album may not be death metal, oh well.
