Persefone (yawn), Gloryhammer (sugary), Serenity (as generic as it gets), Avantasia (I like it, just not enough to get it), Stratovarius (same ole), Agrypnie (unjust, perhaps, I was just sick of black metal bands with songs that never end...someone point me to some <5 minutes per song BM?), Wolfchant (not a fan of the style), Pomegranate Tiger (another yawn), Orbeth (meh), Combat Astronomy (sounded so good on paper, a pity), Moon (what did I say about length? dammit), Wormlust (I think I see a pattern...), Almighty Arcanum (not in the mood for a helping of the usual stuff...since 2005 or so), Joel Grind (listenable, but why be satisfied with merely that), Clutch (as vulgar as the most straightforward glam)

Even in 2012 (update: 2013), 2011 still isn't too hot a year for me. Still, new stuff keeps on coming, and 2012 itself is looking pretty good, so I'll forgive it. New in the new year is the lack of ratings. It's bothersome, especially since I've decided to sacrifice a few newborns and (retrospectively and retroactively) rate on RYM.
