How you ever thought how would Amon Amarth sound if they would play doom? Here is answer , because Peter Mesnickow vocals sounds a bit like Johan Hegg. Viking lyrics can ne written for doom as well btw. Enjoyable album specially since latest A World To Drown In was out in 2003. Its same parallells whit time before albums whit other big Danish doom band Saturnus. To me this iks better doom as other fridays album My Dying Bride's new, I like this better.

Quite an accurate description, it's kinda like Hegg has become the new vocalist for Saturnus.

Just a beautifully crafted and excellently performed melancholic gothic doom album reminiscent of all the great acts from the genre, very much up there with Shores Of Null's release last year. If your a fan of My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost, Katatonia and Saturnus then you simply can't go wrong with this.

Magnificant album. I wasn't really captured by the magic by first listen, but now I'm through second play through and wow. I can imagine how this album will grow over time



Top Releases of 2024

I have absolutely no idea how anyone would think of Amon Amarth while listening to this ^^. No relation whatsoever.

This made me think Hanging Garden meets Marianas Rest. It’s not quite as depressing as the latter, nor quite as warm and comforting as the former. It sits right in the middle, and that’s a great space to be in!

The production is obviously absolutely perfect! I like how the songs develop to a climax towards the end, turning into something I almost wish would never end, high intensity and emotion.

A slow grower but very good album. It took me 3 to 4 spins to get connected but then it stayed. 'Your Mountains Will Drown Again' is my favorite repeat listen.. The end of 3rd track and the beginning of 4th track are one and same.

Some of the best doom I have heard this year. The songs are near perfect, the melodies are spectacularly written. The title track pulls at my heartstrings, especially the part, "Is this is a certain end....a certain end of everything". I see very few albums topping this one for me in 2024.

Doom Album of The Year!!!

Most melodic, most melancholic, most sincere album of the year. Sometimes it feels a bit too simple or generic but is always effective. No fillers, perfect runtime. After last Hanging Garden's output I though it would take considerable time until we get another letter from the past. But here we are.
I expected nothing special. Their previous album was listened by me maybe couple of times and unimpressed I put CD on the shelf, having not touched it since even once. But my feelings about this one are very similar to the description given by Azhidahak in his review of Tears Of Mortal Solitude, which I adore myself: "Today was a very cold and rainy day... and I experienced one of the most beautiful hours in my life". It's a bit terrifying that it was released the same year as A World To Drown In. Sometimes they are back, yeah.

Just came across this band. loving it. I was looking for doom like this last year, don't know how I missed them.
