SolNegre - Anthems For The Grand Collapse

05. A Path Of Aloneness (I&II) is grandiose.

I've finally managed to give this album a proper listen and I have to say it's one of the best funeral/death doom records I've heard all year. It has such a majestic, almost cosmic-like atmosphere, brimming with melancholia, and has some surprisingly great solos. A few minor nick picks production-wise but a great all-round effort.

Here I hear a slightly melodic death-doom metal accompanied by keyboards that promise greater harmony. The atmosphere is melancholic but not cosmic, as the keyboards seem more cinematic.
I'm already realizing this isn't my cup of tea, since Fires In The Distance didn't do much for me either.
