There's no way an album named Death Metal could go wrong, Drilling drums, incredible vocals (understandable, not the usual low Growl) a guitar that must be executed by one of the most technical players Metal has seen, and some incredible bass-lines, 40 minutes of accurate brutal intelligent and stunning music.

The album starts with "Of Fire" a fast song with some incredible solos and riffs, the drumming is also incredible, those beats are quite usual but Fred makes them sound great though, in the minute 1:51 a bridge comes, the catchiest one I've heard, and then that incredible lead that make demons weep, then "Trendkiller" appears punching you in the face, the cymbal intro is great (must be either a chyna or a crash) this song is amazing due to the drums (and of course again those incredible solos) this song is even faster than it's predecessor; better? I don't know, but faster yes.

You have to have balls to name an album after a sub-genre.

You have to have balls to name an album after a sub-genre.

Well, Possessed already got there with that one (with their first demo), but I guess it wasn't really a genre then.

This shit rapes the Insomniums, modern Arch Enemys, Belakors, Soilworks and Omnium Gatherums of the world - IN THE ARSE!

In terms of straightforward heaviness it beats out a lot of the modern melodic bands you named, but why bother comparing them in the first place? I know they're all (erroneously) labeled as (melodic) death metal, but really there aren't many similarities in overall sound to warrant that comparison.

Nothing to like a lot IMO... My fav song was Shapeshifter, a bonus track, which says a lot i guess..

Not a bad album but as I listened to it again earlier today I'm amazed by the crappy mixing quality ! All instruments and vocals blend together into something that sounds like pure unlistenable chaos :/ Too bad, with great mixing the album would sound even better !
