Not a bad album but somewhat a middle album for Rage. It follows the same formula as Black in Mind, not as thrashy and dark though, but most of the songs here are quite forgettable. The first four tracks are all classic Rage songs but after that it never really gives anything great. It's a bit plodding and all those mid-tempo songs, yeah I can't really seperate one from the other.

Yes, exactly, that is the problem here. It is the Black in Mind formula, just in a bad application.

I dont quite agree. I dont find any classic Rage song on this album.
Higher Than The Sky as well as Deep In The Blackest Hole are very good songs, but far from the band's classics imo.
After the title track it plods a lot, that I do agree on.
But then you may have overlooked the closer: Fading Hours, the highlight of the album for me.
It is the "All this time" of "End of all days". Though the only secure path to get there is to skip most of the tracks predecing it.
With this album, their downward spiral has started (maybe with the exeption of Soundchaser).

Yes I should have mentioned that one. It stands out among the other tracks.

Here I don't agree, there's plenty of great stuff to come

Well, Higher than the Sky is the song usually played by them to end their live performances, and I think it works wonders.

That would be nice. Last weekend they ended with their weakest song: Straight to Hell.

EoaD was a long time one of my "don't like" Rage records. I think that was because Black in Mind was sooooo good (10/10). Resulting in a big disappointment here.

With many years in between I must say it's quite good. Defintly in the top third for me.

Faves: (all songs are good) - Outstanding for me are Higher Than The Sky, Deep In The Blackest Hole, Visions (best on record), Face Behind The Mask and Fading Hours
