For such a (comparatively) high profile band there's surprisingly little attention on them on this site. Shame, this album really is a bit good.

Damn straight, and 'nuff said! The same goes for the whole Doom scene on MS, and in Europe in general, but this could be (and IS, dammit!) such a gateway band to Doom, there's no other like it. Can be labeled as Doom in general, but the influences and the ways to express them are rich with this outfit. Also, I have to cry a bit about the ratings "Take The Curse" has received in some magazines and netzines. The only thing I feel a bit sore about the album is comparatively clean sounds: somewhat murkier approach could have made the packet more devastating. But just a bit: on the other hand, you can't get much more devastating than "Black Hash Mass".

Indeed! I love that 10 - 15 seconds of the Sardonic Wrath era Darkthrone-esque black metal that appears on Black Hash Mass.
