This album depresses the shit out of me

Melancholic gothic doom metal whit harmful atmosphere. Its Heikes gang, all about her, and its overrated. I think Joutsen must sing a bit calmer, not growling. Musically its good, but all about it not so, but something is missing to be perfect mid 90's melancholic sadness. Yes it can bring back mid 90's but not 100%. Fixed that for you. Of course there was "something" missing... That's why this band and this album exist.

Dreams Burn Down is heart-wrenching

Tomi Joutsen's vocals are astonishing here

New addition to my "rainy days" tracklist. So cool concept and music, but Joutsens vocals, meh, they often doesnt express any the saddness at all, sounding more like me pushing during monster diarrhea

I usually don't like doom... But this was so beautiful. AOTY for me.

It spends a lot more time sounding evil and agonizing than i was expecting, but it grew on me. There are a lot of things about this album that are just plain black and white, but it's hard to fault those things because I'm sure they were done deliberately. The album is pretty much take it or leave it for what it is and that's how it should be. Maybe the songwriting could have been a bit more interesting, but it didn't exactly disappoint. The vocal work took a little getting used to but there is a lot of range covered and it's all well performed.

Melt, My Mistake, and Dreams Burn Down are the standout tracks for me, but I can easily go through the whole album in a sitting without losing interest. The story behind this album is very intimate and depressing so it isn't one you should move on from if it doesn't immediately click for you.

Delicate and elegant, this one is very moving. Not amazing but a really nice experience.

Pretty much how I feel too. At its best moments, it approaches amazing territory, but mostly it's just very good.

I don't get your post.
It's Juha's project, not Heike's. Heike Langhans is nothing but a hired guest musician and she only did the vocals for one sole track. Besides, it's not at all 'about her' but all about Aleah Stanbridge.
The only point I can confirm is that it is indeed quite overrated.

It's Juha's project, not Heike's. Heike Langhans is nothing but a hired guest musician and she only did the vocals for one sole track. Besides, it's not at all 'about her' but all about Aleah Stanbridge.
The only point I can confirm is that it is indeed quite overrated.
