That's true about black gaze and the earlier bands are still the standouts

The purer shoegaze bands I love are My Bloody Valentine and Nothing. I'm not too versed on the genre though. I tend to like it when it's mixed with other stuff but I gotta say the blackgaze movement is beyond played out.
