Biography
Formed in New York City as a Heavy / Speed Metal band called Executioner in 1984. They had to rename themselves to E-X-E after they signed to Shatter Records in 1986, as to not be mixed up with Executioner from Boston, who were signed to New Renaissance Records at the time. The debut LP incorporated traditional metal elements from their early days as well as a dark & brutal thrash metal style. After releasing a follow up thrash metal album in 1990 they split up in 1991.
In 2015 E-X-E was reformed by two members & songwriters of the original line up, now playing an alternative rock/metal crossover style.
