Biography
With satire, denunciation and acid humor, Narcocracia is an explosive experience full of irreverence that breaks the mold of colombian extreme music with their sound, lyrics and live shows. Combining different sounds from metal, hardcore, punk, and Colombian rhythms, Narcocracia is more than a metal band: Narcocracia is party.
Founded in late 2020 by Leandro Martinez, who decided to form a new musical group after receiving a devastating medical diagnosis. The initial idea was to create a "Brujeria" tribute band, assembling a lineup consisting of Leandro Martinez (vocals), Diego Nieto (bass and backing vocals), Alonso Baquero (drums), and Sergio Peña (guitar) under the name "Brujerizmo." This project ultimately failed to meet expectations, leading to a renewed search for new musicians and the addition of Hector Rubiano (guitar), Julio Ángel (bass), and Alexander Velandia (drums).
With this complete lineup, the band changed its name to current "Narcocracia" and focused on creating original music based on satire, social commentary, and sarcasm about the vibrant daily life of a country like Colombia. This led to their first official performance at the renowned "Ace of Spades Club" in Bogotá, Colombia, generating considerable interest among those who witnessed the band's irreverence, original sound, and unconventional performance.
In May 2021, Julián Osorio joined as bassist and lead composer, adding greater versatility to the band's sound and increasing their creative capacity to develop new material. As a result, Narcocracia was able to release their albums "Narcoaventuras en el País del Sagrado Corazón" (2021), "Realismo Trágico" (2022), and "Triunvirato" (2024), which earned them national recognition thanks to the awards they received over the years at the "Subterránica Awards", including Best New Artist, Best Rock Artist, and Album of the Year.
The band is currently producing their fourth album, which will be released soon.
