In a statement issued by the band, Norwegian blackened metallers Byfrost have announced that they have parted ways with "Alkolust", their drummer since 2008.

Frontman Heavyharms commented: "We have had a great time playing with Alkolust over the years and we wish him the best with his other projects. And to all our fans out there, this is not the end, but very much a new beginning. Horns to the sky!"

Of Death, the new upcoming album of Norwegian blackened thrash metal Byfrost, will be released in June through AFM Records.

Two new tracks, entitled "Of Death" and "Buried Alive", are available for streaming over at MySpace.

The 8 track album, which is due for release on AFM Records in June in both CD and LP formats, was recorded at the Conclave & Earshot Studios in the band's home town of Bergen, Norway, and was produced by Enslaved's Herbrand Larsen together with Byfrost, and co-produced by Enslaved guitarist Ice Dale. Mastering was carried out by Knut Fug Prytz at the Magica Mastering Studio.

Artwork and Design are once again in the hands of Christian Sloan Hall, known for his work with bands like Dimmu Borgir and Slayer.

Norwegian blackened thrash metal Byfrost have inked a death with AFM Records. The band's upcoming new album Of Death will be released later this year.

Of Death is currently being recorded at Conclave and Earshot Studios in Bergen, Norway with producers Herbrand Larsen and Bjornar Nilsen. The mastering will be done by Knut Fug Prytz.
