The group has completed work on their fifth album, titled A Umbra Omega, which is set for release on March 16th on Peaceville Records. The Deathtrip is a relatively unknown band and has just two demos in their discography. A few days ago, a Facebook profile popped up, and news of the forthcoming full-length album were posted shortly after. The album, called Deep Drone Master, will be released on the Finnish record company Svart Records. The band currently consists of vocalist Bjørn "Lord Aldrahn" Dencker, session drummer Dan "Storm" Mullins, and guitarist "Host". Their debut album has been mixed by Snorre Ruch from the legendary Thorns and is set for international release on November 14th.

Surprise, surprise. Dødheimsgard (DHG) haven't released any new material for a while but now announced the release of a new album in October 2013 after a six year break. Apparently, a record deal has been inked and material has been written not for one, but two albums which will be released one year apart from each other. The band has not yet disclosed any further details, but more information is to be revealed soon.

Drummer D'arn of Norwegian avantgarde metal band Dødheimsgard has been involved in a serious motor cycle crash. Reports indicate that he suffered a series of minor injuries and broke his arm which forced the band to cancel their appearance on this year's Wacken Open Air festival on very short notice.

Dødheimsgards slot at the Wacken Open Air 2012 has been filled by Red Fang who did play a full one-hour set in compensation.

Norwegian extreme metal outfit Dødheimsgard has once again parted ways with vocalist Mathew "Kvohst" McNerney, whom you will all remember first left the band in 2008, only to return in 2010. Kvohst has left to concentrate on his other band, Hexvessel, who have an album out this year entitled Dawnbearer.

Kvohst has posted the following on the band's myspace blog:

"After a pretty tough month and some deep contemplation, I have decided to call it a day and check out of the Dødheimsgard asylum. The reasons for my departure are personal and I'd like them to stay that way. My work in DHG and on Supervillain has been a labour of love but, unfortunately, love, as Bukowski once said, can often be "like trying to carry a full garbage can on your back over a rushing river of piss." I can only thank the rest of the band, especially Vicotnik and the fans, for their total support and dedication and for some of the best years of my life. As a fan of the band since I was young, I will continue to support DHG and I hope that you will do the same.
