Anciients - Chris Dyck Quits, Introduce New Guitarist

Anciients is facing its first line-up change. The quartet from Canada is replacing their guitarist Chris Dyck, after he decided to live, with Brock MacInnes. He leaves due to the usual "no time for it, no money for it, different life priorities".

Chris posted via Facebook: "Hey there Anciients people! After some weeks of serious thought I have decided that I need to move on from the band. I love Kenny, Boon and Hannay like brothers and wish them all the best in the future! This decision has literally nothing to do with any internal bullshit or issues within the band or anything like that. In fact we all get along great, always have. The real reasons are fairly simple and they are all just your standard 'no time for it, no money for it, different life priorities' type vibe. Like I said, I love the guys, the music, our support team including our amazing label Season of Mist! This is a really bittersweet day/post for me. On one hand I lose the band I helped create and define from its inception, on the other hand I gain the freedom to do my own thing (if anyone cares to know I am obsessed with motorcycles and early 90's death metal haha). This has been a tough call to make, but I think it's time to let er go."

The band said: "As most of you know, Chris has decided to part ways with Anciients to pursue other things in his life. We have had an amazing time playing music with him since the start of the this band, we've had the privilege of travelling the world together and made some great memories along the way. It's really sad to see him go, but we love the guy and wish him all the best in whatever it is he decides to do next. With that being said, we would like to introduce you to our new guitarist Brock MacInnes. Brock is an amazing musician and all around great person. He filled in on our tour with Intronaut a couple years back and we had a blast with him. We are excited to see what the future holds with this new lineup and are eager to hit the road and perform our new record for you guys. You can come see the new lineup if your local to Vancouver at the show posted below. Or the couple dates in Alberta we have in April. Thank you all for your continued support, hope to see you soon."
