Jennifer Finch has been credited with helping shape the band's signature sound, particularly on their best-known album Bricks Are Heavy. Beyond music, she was also an actor, designer and photographer. Finch passed away yesterday, on July 18th, just days after her diagnosis was made public.
L7 had previously announced a final tour, set to begin later this year, but earlier this week announced that Finch would sadly not be able to join it due to her diagnosis. She had asked her bandmates to continue with the shows as planned.
The remaining band members paid tribute in the following statement:
"With a very heavy heart we announce that our beloved bandmate, friend, and fellow troublemaker Jennifer Finch has passed away today. She had a long courageous fight with brain cancer and was loved by many wonderful friends, musical peers and fans worldwide. We love you Jennifer."
