Singer Paul D'Anno fronted the band Battlezone until they broke up in 1998. Sadly, they have now lost their former guitarist from the original line-up, John Hurley. He played guitars on their debut album, Fighting Back, which was released in 1986.

The band confirmed: "It brings us great sadness to announce that original Battlezone guitarist, John Hurley has passed on. John was a contributor to the album Fighting Back, and was a fantastic guitar player. He will be greatly missed."
