Statement from the band: "Friends, unfortunately, our brother and drummer Joost has parted ways with Heidevolk. After a long period in which became clear that we were no longer on the same track, we mutually agreed on this inevitable outcome. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors, and hope he’ll continue to make music and bash those drums again soon.
"Joost' unique presence and characteristic drumming will surely be missed within the band. So many adventures, so many stories and highlights…memories to last a lifetime. We are obviously sad, but it’s time to look forward and touch new ground."
Comment from Joost Vellenknotscher: "My battle with Heidevolk has been fought and the stories have been told. Looking back at 20 fantastic years at Heidevolk and never forgotten backyard, thank you all for this wonderful trip. I will never forget the memories and meetings I made there.
"The heights richly overshadow the valleys, but it’s time for me to embark on another path to the unknown. If the Women weave it, then we will definitely meet again. I raise the horn for you one more time and then put down the sticks at Heidevolk."

Weird they are not disbanding .. Last album was not good, and there's no more original member. It really looks like they are just using the name for money at this point.
