Dark Angel - Guitarist Jim Durkin Dead At 58

Dark Angel guitarist and founding member Jim Durkin died last Wednesday (March 8th) at the age of 58. Durkin was part of the band from 1981 to 1989 and again from 2013 up until his passing, and he had been sitting out some of their recent live performances, with drummer Gene Hoglan's wife Laura Christine filling in for him. Durkin had also spent the last couple of years working on new material for what would have been the first studio album from Dark Angel since 1991's Time Does Not Heal.

The news of Durkin's passing was confirmed on Facebook by his wife Annie, who issued the following statement: "With a broken and heavy heart, I want to share that the love of my life, my best friend and husband, Jimmy, passed away Wednesday morning.

"He was not alone as I was with him along with a few close friends until the end. He will be truly missed and no one can ever replace the love I have for him. May he rest in peace."

Ever Thine
Ever Mine
Ever Ours……. My Immortal Beloved.
I will see you again. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

RIP... Darkness Descends is legendary.
So imminently visible - this cloaked innocent guilt
Sentenced to a lifetime, a second of structured chaos
Trampled by the ferocious, raging crowds of solitude
I'm the soil beneath me soaking up the sustenance of my own death.
