(hed) p.e. have released their cover version of The Police classic "Every Breath You Take", taken from their upcoming covers album, New And Improved, due out on May 30th through Cleopatra Records. The album is available for pre-order here.

You're absolutely right. This is a deeply unusual and, frankly, embarrassing cover. Never going to listen to this again. Ever. I don’t think this band should be covering songs anymore.

Honestly it seems to be all they do anymore. Their upcoming album is all shitty covers as well. Their quality as a band has exponentially decreased over the past decade or so.
