Ever wondered which styles and countries are more prevalent in your album collection? Well, if you have enough albums in your MS collection, this might make some interesting stats. Like, "holy shit, third of my albums are from Finland!"

Anyway, here's an example, based on Marcel's extensive arsenal. Enjoy the pretty pie charts!

Thats strange, I was looking for something like this on the internet just last night. Cool. I guess I'm an American Heavy Metal/Hard-Rock type guy. Big surprise. Cool addition.

Those graphs are awesome! But, I'm wondering...is there a way to view all of your albums that are from Sweden, USA, etc.?

I'm wondering where the stats are taken from? I'm quite sure I don't yet own any black metal or anything from Denmark, so I counted the number for the wishlist too but it still doesn't add up. Even if I discount the stuff not featured on the site... at least I think...

Looks fantastic of course, awesome job

Panzerchrist and Artillery in your wishlist are from Denmark. I don't know where Black metal came from though... gotta do some more tweaking.

Ivan explained the Denmark stuff in your wishlist and I found Obstest in your wishlist too so that explains a bit of the lack metal.

So the count is +1 for each album in the collection and each album on the wishlist, only for material featured on the site; if something is listed with two or more genre labels both/all of them will appear, and I just counted wrong the first time? Is that right? (thanks for replies)

edit - nothing seems to show up if I click to show Black metal, within both my collection and my wishlist sections

edit 2 - collection seems to be correct, just the wishlist genre-dividing doesn't work

edit 3 - country-dividing appears to work right in both

edit 4 - other people's collections function the same way as my own

When in the stats, and click on a country, some albums are appearing as double... wonder what's causing it...
For example in my collection, click on Germany and the first band appears with double album

OK, I think I more or less fixed all current issues. Black metal is Obtest and Immortal in your Wishlist. Links in the charts take you to the albums depending on where you are - in Collection or Wishlist. So to see your Black metal albums you need to first open Wishlist, and only then click on 'Black metal'.

Ivan, perhaps it would be a good idea to place a copy of a users "Top Styles" graph in their profile under "stats", so that way when one of us looks at another one's profile we can view what their personal tastes of metal are.

It would be cool when clicking in the country or the genre, to be able to see the tradelist items too, like when there's nothing in the collection and you have the link to switch to tradelist

About what I said regarding being able to manually add the country for albums not in the database, do you think it would be a better idea to have a drop down box next to one of the fields when adding the album? This will prevent spelling mistakes I guess...

I'll agree, I think it would be very awesome if there was a way to get the non featured albums incorporated into the graphs rather than just thrown into 'other'. For social sakes (perhaps I would like to have some straight up rock n roll discussions (discussions that cant be made into a thread or are a topic that wouldnt have the popularity to have a purpose as a thread) with some other ms'rs.
