Melodic Black Metal (suggestion)

Guys plz suggest me some gud melodic black metal bands,or folkish ones,kinda like vintersorg.I would highly recommend for u guys to suggest some bands, that sounds similar in vein to vinterland.Thanks in advance.I already listened to ulver,windir,sacramentum,diabolical masquerade,and etc.Thanks in advance.

You might enjoy Arafel's new album. My personal recommendations are Catamenia (their early work, post '05 sucks), Vintersorg, Cradle of Filth, Graveworm and Illnath. Not all strictly melodic black...it's not a very large subgenre of black metal.

Listened to catamenia,Vintersorg,and illnath,and of course cradle of filth,it is one of my fav band.Anyways,will try Arafael, and Graveworm.It does not have to be strictly melodic black,at times in BM songs,i wud like some melodies thrown in.

For Nokturnal Mortum similarities, check Dub Buk and Temnozor (all 3 linked to NSBM I'm pretty sure)

Seconding Kvist, great band. Also notable is Svikt; obviously Kvist inspired bm who released their debut on February 10, 2011.

Imo kampfar,isn't anything special,for me the ultimate melodic black metal album is by vinterland,their only single album.

alright, alright, it's a matter of taste. Windir is awesome. The reason I love Kampfar though is because Dolk has some incredible vocals. The way he changes pitch to a melody is unprecedented. Most melodic extreme metal relies on the guitars or keyboards to provide melody but him doing it with his voice is very unique in the genre.

I'm assuming you misunderstood the meaning of ">", the sign for "greater than", meaning Vreid/Windir are greater than Kampfar, unless you meant to quote Yojimbo.

My favorite melodic-ish black band is Watain (Lawless Darkness easily qualifies, imo, as a half-melodic black metal album). Listen to 'Hymn to Qayin' ASAP. Windir, Wolven Ancestry, and (early) Naglfar are excellent too.

Windir is good,but i like drudkh, catamenia,Nokturnal Mortum, stuffs better.

Drudkh is really hit and miss with me. Then again, the same can be said for most of the black metal acts I like. Autumn Aurora is wonderful, though.

I never understood the hype for Windir. I think Arntor and 1184 are their best works, but I think that whole "viking metal" aspect really prevented me from getting into them.

As for Catamenia...they were good. Then something happened. It started with The Time Unchained and continued with Cavalcade. Absolutely awful albums.

And although this site is anti-NSBM, Голос сталi and Goat Horns by Nokturnal Mortum are definitely up there in terms of black metal's strongest releases in the 2000s.
