Jorn - New Album In June, Samples Online

Jørn Lande has been very prolific lately. After the release of Bring Heavy Rock To The Land last year and the rerecording compilation Symphonic released in January, Jorn is back with a new original album titled Traveller, to be released on June 11th in North America and June 14th in Europe via Frontiers Records. You can sample four songs from the new album below.

Traveller will be his eighth studio album under the Jorn banner. It was produced by Jorn Lande and Trond Holter and mixed by Tommy Hansen at Jailhouse Studios, Denmark.

This album represents the first product of the pairing of Jorn Lande and the new Jorn guitarist Trond Holter (Wig Wam, Dream Police).

"This album has all the elements of the Jorn legacy," says Lande. "It is heavy, but still very melodic and experimental, and it really rocks! As usual we haven't spent much time analyzing the material before recording it, this is an album about life, doom and death reflecting on what I know and thoughts about what I don't."

Traveller tracklist:

01. Overload
02. Cancer Demon
03. Traveller
04. Window Maker
05. Make Your Engine Scream
06. Legend Man
07. Carry The Black
08. Rev On
09. Monsoon
10. The Man Who Was King

This guy needs a break, seriously. Or a good songwriter, love him as a singer for other bands/projects but can't stand his solo stuff

Or a good songwriter

This. Seriously needs to play outside his safe zone, and a good songwriter in the band/outside supplying him might get the best outta his voice.

Patrick.
I think Jorn, although far from breaking down any new doors musically, has been a very dependable outfit since the release of The Duke (Curiously, Out To Every Nation is probably the most interesting album musically, yet it's one of my least favorites). Bring Heavy Rock was another fine release, so if this new one is of the same quality, I don't care if they play it safe or if they try and shake things up a bit. The way I see it, a good album is a good album, regardless of its originality (though I do understand very well the general thumb-downs this band has been receiving lately). I would really welcome more of his clean singing, say in the line of, how he used his voice on the Aeronautics album for instance. That would be pretty cool.

I wonder if the version released in N. America will be spelled "Traveler" or if he'll use the 2 Ls?
