Xanthochroid recently announced that they have started recording new material. In a post from July 20th, they say "Holy shit we officially start recording tomorrow!" so clearly they are excited. The group also posted a picture of the drum kit in the studio. No news on a release date but the band's new album Of Erthe & Axen will drop via Blood Music which is also working behind-the-scenes on mastering Blessed He With Boils and Incultus for vinyl.

Previously, the band said the plan was to release the new album in the fall/winter of 2014.

Can't wait to hear it! I really liked their last album. They live in the same area as me so it's nice to see some good metal representing Orange County for a change instead of Avenged Sevenfold. Makes me proud.

I even got to meet them and personally paid for my copy of their debut from Sam Meador himself who gave me change, really cool dude, they all are.
