Cain's Offering guitarist Jani Liimatainen posted on his blog new information regarding Cain's Offering future. Since June, the ex-Sonata Arctica guitar player has been working on new songs for the forthcoming album. So, finally fans have some news on the successor to their debut album Gather The Faithful five years later.

Some of the latest updates posted on his blog: "So yeah, it's going pretty well. Seven songs are pretty much done, music-wise that is... I'm planning to use all the free time I have in my hands until the beginning of September on writing, so I should have a pretty good pile of songs to choose from when we begin the recordings. At the moment I have 8 sure songs and 2 on the 'maybe' pile. We are getting there. So, good news for the suomi power metal fans around the world!"

More recently: "Today I did a nine hour day re-working one song we wrote with Timo, and it was 9 hours well spent. It sounds way better now. It's pretty different from everything we've done so far but sounds damn good nevertheless. Now I'm having a drink and going through all the songs we have so far for the next album and pondering one thing: Should there be an instrumental song, like 'Gather The Faithful' was on the debut album? Not sure yet."

I thought that they would only do one album, cool that Jani keeps on writing. Looking forward to it!

I loved the first album, can't wait for this one.
I hope it's mostly the same. There should be an epic instrumental....

Glad to hear they're working on their sophomore album. I was beginning to wonder if they were a one and done collaboration.
