Containing 14 tracks and clocking in at almost 80 minutes, Nocturnes Of Hellfire & Damnation certainly has a lot of material to digest. The band has managed to create an album that should offer something to please fans of their earlier work, as well as fans of the more recent darkened sounds.

Oh no, not that again! I only heard 1 or 2 upbeat songs. The rest is midtempo or that annoying melancholy of the last 2 albums.

I just heard the whole thing as a promo. There are a lot of soft moments on the record and it is QUITE long, but it's much better than their last one. I don't think it's amazing, but it will be worth hearing at least.

Well, finally managed to listen to this one and I didn't really like it. Although there are good moments scattered around (especially bonus tracks and Lucifer's Hammer), but they are quite sparse on that boring, plodding swamp that album is. Also, I didn't like the production.

Definitely best after Atreus II, but given what kind of albums have followed "Atreus II: Now with 100 % more of Atreus!" that's not really saying much.

I think the album is fine for what it is. Sure it's slowish and arguably boring on a few parts, but there's variation as well in a couple of faster songs. The album has classic Virgin Steel characteristics in melodies, and of course DeFeis' voice, which sounds great on most parts. Worth of a few listen I'd say.

Repetitive, boring, uninspired, dragging on and on. Couldn't find anything special on this album, and the vocals were annoying sometimes.

Satan makes the best music, and this is supposed to be a dark album. But both the vocals and the music lacks the power of Satan, which makes the lyrics a farce. Music wise this album is a step back to where they were before the symphonic era started, so even if its VS its leaning towards VS-hair metal. And David DeFeis voice isnt what it used to be. This album is overly pretentious, Biggest disappointment of the year.
