Mgła - Exercises In Futility

Awesome. The first song fucking slays.

Indeed an awesome album, as always =)

Musically ok but I hate those part I , II and so on in the songs , well this is to love or hate band, if you're between it wont work

I've never listened to Mgła before, but decided to listen to this album. It's fucking awesome. I gotta listen to their other albums.

Maybe I still prefer With Hearts Toward None but it's too early to judge. Anyway, it's another great example of black metal from this guy.

Such riffs, that opening on IV kills me. Knew this one was gonna slay like everything else they did.

Holy fuck. This is excellent.

Tried about 3 and a half songs. I truly can't grasp what anyone could get out of this. It's like he's deliberately trying to be as boring as humanly possible yet people are lapping it up like it was cocaine cookies off a cracker's cooch. Dunno if it's as bad as With Hearts Toward None; it doesn't sound like it would be quite as repetitive as that but I don't have the stamina to find out. It would be an exercise in futility, anyway.

Everybody seems to be enjoying this... Then I go listen to some bits and think "is this all there is to it?"
Do I need to listen to the whole thing to get it or something? cause I'm just too lazy to do that =p

Heheh. I do find them a bit frustrating though. I want to stick my hand into your skull and eat your brain so I can understand what you and most others seem to like so much about it. I'm usually pretty good at seeing what people like about something, even if I don't like it myself.

As I expected, great job, great album. Mgła never disappointed. That my taste of music and Im gonna listen it.

That was the big surprise for me. A great album. Parts I, II, III, V were well structured, melodic approach to black metal without losing its harshness. Repeatable but towards to atmospheric as ambient.

Absolutely Perfect !!!!!!!!!!! this is the first album i listened from this band,and i truly had a mind blowing experience !!!
It's one of those albums which i will never forget.time to time i will come back and listen to the whole album.but most favorite track is V .

I actually find it pretty hard to decide which track i like the most, even after listening to this record 15 to 20 times my favorite track changes every single time. simply great riffs all over this record.

Well I am really not the biggest black metal fan and I was shocked I liked this so much. Awesome riffs and these dark melodic moments were so good, every song was a hit and the pacing was just phenomenal. Strong Album of the year contender in my book.

Yeah, I really like this album, one of the strongest BM releases this year imo, but still wouldn't say it's the best. Some people say this band is boring, I don't think so, great riffs, great atmosphere, they play their music their own way, and I like it.

Just really started getting into these guys. I'm mad at myself for not knowing they have been around as long as they have. Definitely some of the best recent black metal to come out. Really digging this album and their older stuff is just as good.

Repetitive and bland tbh. The songs are too long for their own good.

This and Deafheaven seem to be on every half assed best metal of the year list on the internet. Perhaps because it's so sterile, unremarkable and inoffensive, it's the metal of our time.
