Turmion Kätilöt - Postpone Album Release, Give Fanciful Explanations
Finnish industrial band Turmion Kätilöt have had their new album, Diskovibrator, delayed by two weeks. The album was originally going to be released on the 11th of September but has been postponed until the 25th. Reasons for the delay include colorful incidents such as the drummer's dog eating the hard drive and one of the vocalists losing his falsetto voice (Turmion Kätilöt in fact mostly use low-pitched, gruff vocals). The real reason, according to the band's official Facebook page, is that the main vocalist, MC Raaka Pee, "got his second (not a joke) set of twins" which delayed the album's finishing process.
The full statement reads: "Turmion Kätilöt announced earlier that their new album Diskovibrator will be released 11th September 2015. This is now delayed for two weeks and the album will be available on record stores and digital music stores on Friday 25th September.
"There were several things that caused this unfortunate delay. Drummer's dog ate the hard drive containing drum tracks and we needed to play some of the cymbals again last week. Mr. Spektaakkeli lost his high C but now his falsetto is back in shape. Mc Raaka Pee got his second (not a joke) set of twins which didn't actually speed up the finishing process. Nevertheless, the band feels that this 2 weeks delay means at least 24% better album and the German contractors are pressing the album with their asses red as we speak. The new release date does not affect on any of the tour dates or venues."
Turmion Kätilöt have released two songs from the upcoming album. You can find streaming (and pre-order) links in this previous news article.
