Always nice to hear a Floydian-inspired metal album with some actual weight and grit. This shit is righteous.

Ugly production, but the music is a bit good

I find raw sounding production like this quite charming, especially in proggy jim jams. Helps the music from being too clean and sterile.

Also, some of the album remind me of Blaze Bayley-era Iron Maiden... but not in a bad way. I hope that doesn't make me a terrible person. :3

Every time I come back to this, I'm surprised that it sounds so freaking good.

Anyone know what happened to the singer? The album notes imply he had been in the hospital for something pretty serious.
----
"I'm here to nunchuck and not wear helmets. And I'm all out of helmets."
"I'll fight you on one condition. That you lower your nipples."
" 'Tis a lie! Thy backside is whole and ungobbled, thou ungrateful whelp!"

Fun album. Loving Flying Alone. Song came up on shuffle and I knew this album would speak to me from the jump.
