Worm Shepherd - Ritual Hymns

Really enjoy the 3 singles so far, I never enjoy deathcore so much but fuck the new era is pretty nice with band like Worm Shepherd, Mental Cruelty, Lorna Shore, Shadow Of intent & Brand Of Sacrifice.

Strong January 2022 for Deathcore releases. This one falls behind Fit For An Autopsy and Shadow Of Intent, a bit more generic but nice Symphonic touches and slight Black Metal influences. 7.9

The symphonies are what makes this album, they add a real epic feel to it. The drumming is also a highlight, the drummer must of been on speed or something, it's hard to keep up with his beats. I really did not like the vocals though, and the guitar work was kind of bland. Overall it's good for a deathcore album, but nothing memorable.

Good album overall but didn't hook me like other deathcore albums on this symphonic branch.

Good production, great symphonic bits, and some solid grooves. Not a bad listen, but lacks anything stand out or memorable enough to pull me back for a second go.

The vocals are buried in the mix, it’s a shame too.

Some really good (absolutely indecipherable) pig squeals in this album, usually along with the breakdowns. The guitar arrangements along with the drum work is also noteworthy. Definitely a strong contender in the symphonic deathcore arena.
